SLEEPING: Hotel Splendid Tour Eiffel
Today was packed with essential Paris! Our morning began with a city walk including a tour of Notre Dame, famous bridges, and the Latin Quarter. We were turned loose for free time and chose to purchase some wonderful candy and macaroons as well as lunch in the Latin Quarter.
DAILY TOUR ADVANTAGE: DELICIOUS FOOD
Our lunch was at a relaxed sidewalk cafe. I think I might have had escargot for at least every other meal in France - it was a favorite before arriving, but was available everywhere and so good! Pictured below are just a few samples of the delicious food and drink we enjoyed.
In the rest of our free time, we chose to immerse with the locals in Luxembourg Park before taking the metro up to the Arc de Triump. Later in the evening, we had our final group dinner followed by a magical river cruise. Paris appeared as an impressionistic painting with the glow of lights on bridges over the water. Even though we watched the Eiffel Tower for days, the perspective from the River Seine was quite enjoyable.
